Joshua C. Holstead is the Operations Manager of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. A 2008 inductee, he is the youngest member to ever be inducted-at age 38. A “radio baby,” he is the youngest son of “The Dean of Texas Radio News” Joe Holstead, a Charter Inductee of the organization. Josh has been active in radio since the age of 15, but has been around it his entire life.
In February of 2014, he was selected by the Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) along with industry peers and readers of Country Aircheck with the “Best Personality/Show” award. In 2013, he was selected at the Academy of Country Music “Personality of the Year.” and currently serves as morning personality of legendary KVOO in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
That may be slightly NORTH of Texas, but he did his time, serving almost two decades as afternoon host on KILT-FM in Houston as “Rowdy Yates.” He has also served as Personality, Promotions and Program Director in numerous markets like Dallas/Ft. Worth, Bryan/College Station and garden spots in the Lone Star State such as Brady and Bridgeport. Josh began his career (as many did) at KDNT/1440am in Denton.
Josh (along with his wife Kim) are the people who send out the e-updates, take the mail, organize the events, handle the day-to-day duties, manage the website, and are usually seen sweating profusely and foaming at the mouth at TRHofF events-so YOU don’t have to.
Josh has been an integral part of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame since its’ inception, and was handed the operations and ownership by Founder Larry Shannon in 2010, during the Texas Radio Hall of Fame induction celebration in Houston, Texas.
